March 5th-

Mike is getting his work done in a coffee shop innn....Eugene! home of the Ducks. The workers here ROCK! and hooked us up with coffee and plates of food served on square white dishes. Yes, square white dishes! wayyy out of our price range had we paid for it. It seems that most people really like our story and our journey and have helped us out tremendously. Cant talk much cause we have to run again. We met a cool girl here who knows some guys who may let us stay at their place tonight, huwoahwah bro, maybe we can crash on their couch huhuhaha.

We ended up staying at an awesome house at a crazy party that only a 10 minute video can explain!

March 4th

Waking up, me and mike were not impressed at all. I ended up with an ear infection and cough after the horrible sleep and we were about to turn back to Moscow and say screw this. I felt like my sickness was only going to develop into something worse and Mike was just straight pissed off after the awful night. Instead of heading back we decided just to play it out, so Mike stopped at a coffee shop and i got some sleep inside while he got some work done. Mike had discussions with a few people while i was just laying down trying to sleep with a jacket over my eyes. He met one very nice girl at the coffee shop who got us free coffee and talked with us about what we were doing when she got off work. After about 30 minutes of talking to her she gave us 5 bucks so that I could get some cold medicine at safeway. I really owe her one!

All fresh and clean! The day is starting to look brighter. The day really picked up here and we had a rockin time! We found food, friends and a place to stay. The town of (Courvalles??) was amazing. We headed down to stores to get some food and lodging and this is what happened:

It was about 10 pm and we kiiinda had a place lined up to sleep at. We werent 100% sure on the stability of Chris (the guy we met in the sandwich shoppe) letting us stay at his place. We were contemplating sleeping in this secret passage up a ladder in safeway we saw earlier that day. Suddenly i got a call and turns out his roomates were cool with us crashing there. Thinking we were going to catch up on sleep once we got there we instead got invited to a party on the other side of campus. We didnt decline and walked all the way there (where our host was hanging out). We arrived and Chris saw we walked, unfortunately we realized chris was relying on us to bring a car so we could drive him back lol. Me and Mike met some rad Oregonians there, and we later went to a dive bar where police were walking in and out of to find a guy who had a warrant out for his arrest followed by a mexican restaurant that had health code violations and had to change its name twice. It was first called something like "La Banga" but then they changed it to "La Canga" lol. Saving paint.

March 3rd-

We left Moscow around 3 pm and headed out to Portland, Oregon. It was about 20 minutes into the drive when we realized that we were hungry, and with no money to spend, we hand to get food through any means we could. We walked into Arby's and Mike talked the manager into giving us some food. The manager helped us out with 2 roast beef sandwiches and s-*WOAH THIS LADY JUST BROUGHT US COFFEE CAKE*- anyways, the manager hooked us up with roast beef sandwiches and fries.

We were off once again, I was coming over a cold so i tried to get as much sleep as i could. When i would wake up now and then the drive was absolutely beautiful. Soon sitting sedentary for 2 hours got us hungry again, so we stopped at a small produce store and this is what I got us:

We finally arrive in Portland.  I didnt think it had too much of a dirty crime ridden area like most large cities i have been in. There was a domestic dispute at a cross walk we encountered, a sketchy guy asking us if we wanted a ride because he needed help getting around town, and a bum scratching his back up against the corner of a building but other than that it was filled with a lot of normal people and youth. It was about 11 pm and we start asking people at bars and coffee shops if they would mind having us stay at their place. They all were accepting of our idea and wished us well, however no one actually let us stay at their place. Starbucks did get us free breakfast sandwiches though! We walked everywhere in that city until we decided to head back in the car and face defeat:

here we are at the Walmart parking lot. the sleep was absolutely awful. I dont even know if Mike slept at all. I had Mike's sunglasses to block out the bright walmart lights and a twisted up sleeping bag that i didnt even bother to straighten out. The windows fogged up and started to get stuffy. I slept in all sorts of weird positions all through the night. I tried the reclined seat position, the head against the window position, and (my favorite) laying across passenger and driver seat with ribs against the stick shift.  Mike enjoyed shifting positions every 30 minutes laying across the back seat.

On monday Mike and I (David) were discussing to go on an urban adventure. The idea was to travel through city to city and live off of zero money for food, drinks, and lodging. With that we made a promise to actually do the trip and leave wednesday. We invested in an HD camera and this is our time so far.
